Social Issue Campaign

For years, Cubans struggled to access affordable and adequate internet, while expensive hotels in Havana offer wifi to guests who can afford it. When the protest of July 11th, 2021 occurred in Cuba, the government put a strict ban on any form of communication inside or outside of the island. Because of this, the people of Cuba are isolated without a digital voice. Sinvoz is an interactive exhibition that simulates a world with no social media, no communication, and full-on censorship of everything you search. This campaign’s goal is to inform and motivate the target audience to reflect on Cuba’s current status and evoke urgency. It is meant to make those empathetic to the Cuban people’s struggle with internet censorship and remind them of their own freedom.
