Terras Gauda.
Winery Branding
Terras Gauda is a winery located in Vigo, Spain founded by Francisco Mantecon. The exact translation of Vigo is “Small village”. Based upon this, I created a poster to be entered in the 15th International Biennal Poster Design Terras Gauda. Following the outline of the wine bottle, my intent was to demonstrate the essence and energy of Vigo by showcasing the bold and colorful buildings in the city and accentuate the prime examples of religious architecture.
Within the illustrations, iconic elements of Vigo can be seen such as the church of Santa Maria, the colorful houses, the cobblestone that lines the streets, and the port of Vigo. The art style is minimalist, flat, resembling the aesthetic that Francisco Mantecon loved in the mid 70s. The colors are symbolic of the original building colors but slightly exaggerated to express the vibrancy and liveliness of the city.
